This relaxed bride and bridesmaids portrait made at the Forest House Lodge in Foresthill, California, was photographed just before the wedding ceremony that took place at a nearby spot called Grand Sierra Point in the California Sierras. We always do traditional poses of groups like this one with the bride or the bride and groom standing in the center and the bridal party standing on both sides, but when possible, we try to photograph these groups differently, with the faces at different levels, a little more "attitude" and so on. Props like this bench, chairs or steps help to make these groups a little more interesting. Our couples love these more contemporary, and fun group portraits.
