As experienced wedding photographers, we are equally adept at directing our clients during formal portrait time as we are at stealthily observing from the sidelines and capturing spontaneous moments unnoticed, as is the case with this lovely gem at the Muckenthaler Center. This sweet stolen kiss amidst the hubbub of a lively reception was a favorite photojournalistic catch of the day. Though they are surrounded by guests, none are looking directly at the bride and groom... a private moment taking place in entirely in public. Convinced that weddings are full of such poetically contradictory moments, we always have our eye out for the unexpected.
This image was captured with a 70-200 mm lens at 200, from several tables away. It was one of the couple's favorite images of the day, and in my opinion partially because they were not expecting it.
