This fun portrait of the bridesmaids at a recent Laguna Cliffs Marriott wedding in Dana point is pretty quintessentially Californian. Ladies enjoying a resort setting near the beach while sporting cool shades is the stuff of postcards, which is fitting since this was in fact a destination wedding. Though the bride grew up in SoCal, both she and the groom live and work as doctors in West Virginia, so Dana Point was a break from the norm for both them and most of their guests.
The pale turquoise of the bridesmaids dresses fits in beautifully with both the sky and the similarly colored buildings flanking the group, while the orange tones in the bouquets tie in nicely with the red tiled roofs. When we saw that most of the bridal party had stylish sunglasses we took the opportunity to have some fun with this, and the ladies didn't hesitate to let loose, particularly the bride who planted a kiss on the cheek of her pal. A shot like this would pair nicely in the album with a more formal shot of the bridesmaids, to show a little variety within a layout, and call to mind the authentic friendship these ladies share.
