One of the great things about being a wedding photographer is that we get to be part of a day long celebration of love, family, friends, and life at a destination that has special meaning to a bride and groom. A wedding is a momentous occasion and the festivities start early. Normally when we are in the bridal room, Joe will shoot details of the dress, shoes, rings and bouquet while Mirta focuses on the energy of the girls getting ready.
One of the things Mirta noticed in the bridal cottage at Terranea Resort was that there was champagne and champagne glasses. She waited until all the bridesmaids were done with their hair, make up and were dressed in their gowns. Right before they were going to help the bride into her wedding dress, She gathered all the girls together and suggested a champagne toast. It’s not easy getting lots of excited girls together but with the right amount of pleasant coaxing, it can be done in a fun way. She took a straight on shot with everyone smiling at the camera but knew her favorite shot was going to happen once she told the girls to be themselves and have fun. You can really see the strong friendships between these lovely ladies and the happiness and joy they have for their best friend who was going to be a married woman in a few hours.
