It was such a joy to photograph this family portrait on formal background at our Costa Mesa, Orange County studio. We always have a clothing makeup and hair consultation with our clients either in person or on the phone before an environmental or studio portrait session. Sometimes our clients text us photos of what they plan to wear to get our opinion. We can also refer our clients to makeup artists and hair stylists that we trust to do a great job and that understand that makeup for a photo session is different than stage or regular makeup.
We love a nice silver and gray palette, particularly for a holiday portrait. It's festive but not the typical reds and greens. When combined with a rich charcoal gray canvas backdrop, the effect is simple yet elegant. And how cute is that showstopper of a little girl?
