This is a view of the instrument panel and steering wheel of a Ferrari Formula 1 car that most fans don’t get to see. Back then, during the Long Beach F1 Grand Prix years, the analogue gauges were actually on a dash board. Now all the information the driver needs is on the rectangular steering wheel and it’s all digital. They also have much more radio communication with the pit crew, and the car itself is “talking” constantly with the engineers--sometimes from halfway around the world. Formula 1 car design has come a long way since the very beginning of my photography career.
